Perfect for a chilly Fall morning, as well as ready for any torrential downpour, this trench coat might just be the only one you'd ever need. As for the backstory...

A trench coat was a style always on the To Do list, however it skipped ahead based on a late Fall wedding in London I attended in 2023. It's somewhat safe to say that a trench coat couldn't be more British. When it came to naming ours, leaning into the English influence made a heck of a lot of sense. Southeast from London is Brands Hatch, my favorite race track in England while possessing quite a robust history.

Brands Hatch is one of the few tracks in the world where you can sit in the grand stands and see the entire track, which is something truly special. I really love the track's versatility having hosted motorcycle and Formula 1 races. Representing a diverse utility seemed like the perfect job for a trench, given it's ability to keep you warm, while also protecting you from the wet, while still maintaining a stylish appearance whether it's worn over a t-shirt at the Farmers Market, or over a suit for a black tie event as I wore it last Fall. 

As for the design, the approach was a trench coat that presents everything you need and nothing you don't while also maintaining the Military feel. So there's no belt on this coat (let's face it - most tie it behind their backs anyway) and no straps on the cuffs. The cuffs do, however, have function buttons most often seen in fine tailoring.

It was somewhat of a no-brainer to take the fan-favorite Targa Florio Jacket, elongate it and make it water resistant. Maintaining military roots was especially appropriate given Brands Hatch's role, historically, as a military training ground. You may notice the additional row of buttons on the front, as well as the hand pockets having been lowered from their position on the Targa Florio given the coat's longer length. The two internal pockets remain the same, while the Brands Hatch also features a gusseted vent section on the lower half of the coat which can remain buttoned for a more sleek look, but can also be unbuttoned should you have a longer legs/longer gait. A hanging loop has also been added on the inside by the collar for those moments you may need to hang the coat on a rack in a restaurant or hook in a pub.

FIT: Jacket length fits just above your knee. Whatever your size is in other STANDARD H garments, namely the t-shirts, you will choose the same size based on how this is designed to fit...meaning it's slightly loose to accommodate layering in the Fall/Winter and/or over a suit. If only worn over a t-shirt, it will be a looser fit, but we also think that looks cool. 

SHELL: 66% Cotton / 34% Polyamide Twill fabric made in Italy.

LININGS: The 100% Cotton Tartan Plaid Lining is also found in the Targa Florio Jacket. The 100% Acetate sleeve lining allows your arm to effortlessly glide into the sleeve. 

CARE INSTRUCTIONS: Gently brush or sponge off any dirt, however, for a proper "wash" please DRY CLEAN this product.

The Brands Hatch Trench, like our other garments, is cut, sewn, and finished at our factory in downtown Los Angeles, California.
