About
For those with drive, STANDARD H began as a travel and automotive-inspired brand of apparel and accessories. While also being influenced by architecture, surf culture, cycling culture, and a dire love of watches, the brand has grown into three collections, hosts a Small Business community-focused podcast, offers travel recommendations, and even has its own playlists on Spotify. Specific products support charitable foundations such as the Jimmy V Foundation and Heart and Armor whereas 1% of annual sales is donated to 1% for the Planet. Find out more about the STANDARD H advocacy efforts HERE while other efforts are made to reduce the brand's carbon footprint by way of product manufacturing processes as well as the utilization of recycled packaging materials. What a journey it's been, and in certain respects, it's only the beginning. Drive safe, ride safe, look your best, and be kind to one another. Cheers!

A Cary, North Carolina native, STANDARD H was founded by Wesley Smith in 2015 in Encinitas, California. A 20+ year veteran of the retail and apparel industry Wesley had dreamt of owning his own apparel company dating back to high school. Wesley first cut his teeth in retail working at a bike shop at age 15. He then followed his interest in surfing to work for a surf shop at his local mall until graduation. In college, Wesley began learning more about styling, fabrics and construction through the training offered while working at J. Crew and Banana Republic. His thirst for knowledge grew, and his tastes evolved into working with higher-end contemporary brands through sales and management of several independent multi-brand retailers in the Raleigh area. In pursuit of growing further, Wesley moved to Los Angeles in 2007 where he worked for James Perse followed by Gucci, Titleist golf, and Allen Edmonds.
Advocacy
From day one, STANDARD H has supported several charities and initiatives as the goal for the brand is to become far larger than the bottom line will ever reflect. Along with the efforts to reduce the brand's carbon footprint through manufacturing and the utilization of recycled packaging, we also support 1% For the Planet.
1% for the Planet is a charity near and dear to STANDARD H given how important it is to look after the planet that has provided us this wonderful life. The pledge for all 1% members is to donate 1% of their annual sales to this organization. Founded in 2002 by Yvon Chouinard and Craig Mathews, 1% for the Planet has certified more than $250 million in support to approved environmental nonprofits. “The intent of 1% for the Planet is to help fund these diverse environmental organizations so that collectively they can be a more powerful source in solving the world’s problems.” - Yvon Chouinard
